CWEE has been a wonderful and positive experience for me. I’ve updated my skills and am preparing to re-enter the workforce. It has revived my self-worth.

Tutoring at CWEE on Fridays is the highlight of my week. Knowing that I was a small part in the success of a GED candidate is incredibly rewarding.

The Center for Work Education and Employment (CWEE) invites Denver area residents and businesses to lend a helping hand to program participants on their path to a more self-supporting life, by donating business clothing and accessories for the organization's onsite 1st Impressions Boutique, magazines and used books for the literacy program, and holiday gifts for children of participants.
The CWEE Donation Drive launches this week and continues through December 9. Donations can be dropped off Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at CWEE, 1175 Osage Street, Suite 300, or contributed at an Open House on November 30 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the same location.
"Getting your life back on track is hard work. CWEE participants are developing job skills, working with case managers, taking GED or Adult Basic Education classes, and more, all while managing a single parent household. The Donation Drive and Open House are two ways to show that the community supports their efforts," said Laurie Harvey, executive director at CWEE.
Donations complement the CWEE program by knocking down potential barriers to program completion and workforce integration. "Our participants face plenty of obstacles in their lives," said Harvey. "The lack of an interview suit shouldn't be one of them."
CWEE fosters personal and professional transformation for low-income single parent families through confidence building, customized skills training, and career advancement. Since its inception in 1982, CWEE has helped thousands of families in metro Denver transition off welfare and into secure employment.
The Open House will include participant-led tours, cocktails and hors d'oeuvres.
Local businesses expressing their commitment to the CWEE Donation Drive and Open House include Agrium Women's Leadership Group, The Bawmann Group, Blueline Properties, Building Owner and Managers Association, Colorado Women's Bar Association, Epsilon Targeting, Hand Therapy of the Rockies, Kaiser Permanente, KeyBank, RBC Wealth Management, Rose Women's Organization, US Bank, Venoco, Inc. and Zonta Club of Denver II.
