Title: Development and Events Coordinator Position Status: Full-time, non-exempt Salary: $40,000 - $45,000 Reports to: Director of Development Founded in 1982, CWEE fosters personal and professional transformation for low-income single-parent families through confidence building, customized skills training, and career advancement. CWEE advocates on many levels – from work on poverty and education issues to core programs and services – and works tirelessly on behalf of those served. CWEE is now seeking to expand its funding base and dramatically accelerate the impact of its services. SUMMARY OF POSITION Under the supervision of the Director of Development, the Development and Events Coordinator works to advance CWEE’s mission by supporting all development efforts, coordinating fundraising and mission-related events, and coordinating CWEE’s communication efforts. This is a full-time, 40 hour/week position with full benefits. The Development and Events Coordinator will assist with all development related annual fund and any campaign responsibilities including managing CWEE’s donor database, coordinating outreach and volunteer efforts, and acknowledging donors. The Development and Events Coordinator will also work closely with the Director of Development to create an overall strategic plan for events, coordinate and oversee events, manage an events committee and create event marketing and collateral. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Assist in fundraising efforts including the cultivation and retention of all donor types: individuals, foundations, and corporations Assist in the updating and executing of an overall communication strategy, including website, social media, newsletters, press releases, donor appeals, and recognition Support the CWEE staff in messaging, branding awareness and expertise Manage fundraising procedures and operations, including CWEE’s database, donor acknowledgements, and vendor relationships Handle internal processes and procedures related to donor management Coordinate fundraising events including the annual fundraiser as well, as well as mission engagement events including monthly Lunch & Learns, Leadership Council meetings, and corporate volunteer events Represent CWEE in a variety of settings including civic groups, donor third party events, and workplace giving REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of three years nonprofit experience in some combination of development, fundraising, marketing, event planning and communications Excellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skills Ability to engage a diverse audiences and build relationships Self-starter with excellent organizational skills, ability to multi task and manage competing deadlines with attention to detail Collaborative and flexible team player who is able to serve in many roles: leader, follower, coach, problem-solver Mastery of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint, Adobe Creative Cloud, Constant Contact and social networking platforms Quick learner with the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment while adapting quickly to changing needs of the department Skilled in data entry and producing reports Solid understanding of fundraising ethics and principles, donor stewardship, and accountability Ability to work well with CWEE’s various constituent groups including participants, staff members, events committee, donors, Leadership Council, and Board of Directors Commitment to and a passion for CWEE’s mission of moving people out of poverty Ability to work occasional nights and weekends for special events PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience soliciting funding from a variety of sources, including foundations, businesses, individuals, civic organizations and special events Website management skills Familiarity with the Denver philanthropic community Positive attitude, goal oriented, works well under varying time constraints Good sense of humor is a welcome plus TO APPLY: Please submit cover letter and resume to KStran@cwee.org with Development & Events Coordinator in the subject line by December 6th.
